New Builds in Costa Blanca Norte

The string of white sand coves from Denia in the north to Alicante in the south is considered the upper half of the Costa Blanca, or White Coast. This northern part wraps around the end tip of a range of mountains that marches into the sea, forming a large promontory between Denia on the north shore to Altea on the south. Landscapes here are more rugged than the southern Costa Blanca which makes for dramatic photographs.

If you seek an urban setting with beach and mountains by day, parties at night, and festivals that span both, you have found it. Denia, Javea, and Alicante City offer all of this. Tourist hot-spot Benidorm’s seafront is lined with high-rise hotels and condos. If bright lights and loud music are not your idea of a domestic environment, at least during the summers, there are plenty of traditional houses in quaint villages and much quieter resort communities you can call home.

Of course, areas like this are prime for rental investment because European snowbirds flock to these warm climates for long winter vacations (sometimes all winter) and to glory in the summer heat for weeks at a time. It is the European custom to spend most of December and August “on holiday” with family; some countries mandate up to six weeks off. Meanwhile,

most Americans have only a few days off for winter break/Christmas and summer vacation, usually 10 days to two weeks total. With rental seasons lasting so much longer than in the U.S., a Spanish resort property can bring enough income during the winter months to pay the property’s mortgage for the year. The rest of the time, it is yours to enjoy, and ultimately, you will have a paid-off luxury condo or villa for your retirement!
