Places to Visit

Things to do begin at Flamenca with a pool so large that it is called “the lake.” Beyond the property to the northeast along Highway N-332, are two stunningly colorful salt lakes created by nature—one pink, Lago Rosa, and one green, Laguna Salada de la Mata. Together, they comprise the Natural Park de las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja, and admission is free. For centuries, people have harvested salt and sought healing from the lakes’ mineral-rich waters. On the other side of Flamenca Village is Zenia Center, a huge open-air mall with everything from groceries to home improvement supplies to Levis. On Saturdays, the street market of Playa (playa means beach) Flamenca offers local produce, which is only a few steps away. Restaurants and clubs are plentiful. For the more adventurous, dune buggies and 4-wheelers can be rented for bumpy rides along the shore or jet skis offshore.

If you come to play golf, the nearest golf course is Villamartin, approximately 2.5 miles away.
